Getting Started

Don’t be intimidated! You don’t have to “get into shape” before starting CrossFit.

Step 1
Free intro session
We offer an optional free intro session in case you want to see what we’re all about. You’ll be instructed on our program and how Westsound CrossFit operates, and you’ll begin to learn some of the fundamental movements our workouts are built around. Just make an appointment.

Step 2
Our “On Ramp” series is designed as an introduction to the CrossFit methods and an evaluation of your fitness. Regardless of your fitness level, CrossFit will help you achieve your goals. On-Ramp Training prepares you for entry into our ongoing classes. You can complete your On-Ramp training in 12 classes over 4 weeks.  During On-Ramp, our certified CrossFit coaches will teach you the fundamental movements how to CrossFit correctly and prevent injuries.  After On-Ramp, you will be able to complete any CrossFit workout scaled to your ability.

Step 3
Once you’ve completed the 12 on-ramp classes successfully, you’re ready to join the rest of the team. You will have all the knowledge necessary to attend the regular classes scaled to your ability.

    I was wondering what is the average fitness level for someone just joining. do you have a lot of people who are out of shape, or are they people looking for the next step up for their workout routine.

      Hi Stephanie! To answer your question, there is a full spectrum of people with different levels of training. From total beginners to what I consider advanced. Everyone shows up with the goal to take their fitness to the next level…..and they are successful every time. If you are interested, I recommend coming in and giving it a try. There is no intimidation and you don’t have to be “in shape” to start CrossFit. Let me know if you want to make an appointment. Thanks for the inquiry. Have a great weekend.

    I started CrossFit in February. At 320 pounds and 42 years old I have not been athletic my entire life. What was I thinking joining a program like CrossFit? Today I am down to 285 pounds and just completed Murph! I have a long ways to go, but I can honestly say this is the best thing I have ever done for myself. Everyone here is super supportive, and always encouraging each other. Come on down, give it a try.

    If you are reading these post. you are interested in your well being. I am here to tell you, Crossfit is the best thing I have done for myself. Its like getting personal trainging for a fraction of the cost. If you try it you wont regret it. You dont have to be a athlete to be apart of it, just committed.
